Tongits is a variant of the classic Rummy-style card game, designed for three players. You have to clear your hand of cards by forming sets or minimizing your total score when a showdown arises or the central stack depletes.
How to play
- Distribute 12 cards to each player, with the dealer receiving 13. The remaining cards form the draw pile.
- Start with the dealer discarding a card. Players can pick up the discarded card to form or extend sets, or draw from the central stack.
- Collect hand combinations and strategically discard unnecessary cards to streamline your hand.
- Alternate between picking up and discarding cards until a player achieves Tongits, calls a fight, or the central stack empties.
- Lay down a meld on the table to initiate a fight. During this round, players refrain from discarding cards onto melds.
- Secure victory by utilizing all your cards in combinations or by being the first to empty your hand.
